Dennis Cunningham, President of ActiveWest, has over 20 years of land-use planning and entitlement experience in California and Idaho. A graduate of Purdue University in Landscape Architecture and Land Planning, he continued his education at UCSD (University California San Diego) in Real Estate Development.
He holds a real estate corporate brokers license in the State of California with extensive experience in a wide range of development projects as well as numerous professional affiliations including:
- Urban Land Institute (ULI) – Idaho Chapter and Regional Planning and Implementation Committee Member
- US Green Building Council (USGBC) – Idaho Chapter Board Member and West Coast Council Member (representing 8 states)
As past Vice President of a prominent land-use planning firm in Carlsbad, Dennis worked diligently to synergize the needs of quality land use planning in a high growth area with the important environmental guidelines of the California Coastal Commission, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, Department of Fish & Game, and the Army Corps of Engineers.
In addition to serving on several committees for the City of Carlsbad, he was the Parks and Recreation Commissioner for 8 years. He also served on the City of Coeur d’Alene Downtown Infill Committee and financially supports the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA Idaho) and the Salvation Army Kroc Community Center.
